When you launch the game again, a clean folder will spawn with no content (no need to go past the launcher). Go into the Downloads folder inside your old game folder and move just one Sims3Pack into your new folder, and attempt to install it. If it works, launch the game and make sure it's there. As long as you don't delete anything but the Clean Installer folder-keys, it will be okay. If you find any remaining Clean Installer folders and then deleted them, you can now reinstall it. Before you do, you can see if running the setup in an earlier OS and running as Administrator will make the installation. I had the same problem!!! I wiped all of the files off like she said, then went into Macintosh Hard Drive (or however you get in on a pc), Origin, deleted the installer with the sims 3, deleted origin, went into finder, got into Library (by pressing alt), searched (in the search bar) The Sims #, and there was a file unaccounted for called The Sims 3! We could batch install in Sims 3 and it made mine freeze, so I had to install things one at a time anyway. Edit: After I answered you, I realized this does. It's what I use.
This program allows you to bulk extract one, or multiple .Sims3pack files in a folder, extracting them to another folder. This can be done easily in a staging area on your desktop.

This is not a replacement for the Launcher. It will not give extracted packages the custom content icon. It is purely meant to extract .Sims3packs so that you may put them in your Mods > Packages folder, or sub-folders thereof.
