As with most of manga that are adaptations of anime and not the other way around, I would suggest watching the anime first. And while I liked the anime more, this was still a nice read. If you followed my advice of watching the anime first, I guess I don't have to talk much about the story which is practically the same but more condensed. As expected of anime-adapting manga. What's more important to note here is the art. Some of the characters sometimes look a bit weird and off-model, but it's okay most of the time. The illustrations of the tanks are of course great and detailed with no lazy half-assed drawings. What surprised me the most is that the manga managed to convey the excitement of the battles well. Now, it might of course be because it summoned back from my memory what I felt when watching the anime, but a lot of manga adaptations can't do even that and they left you unsatisfied even if you liked the original anime. Overall, it's a nice read if you're a fan of Girls und Panzer and can be handy if you've seen the series some time ago and want to refresh your memory before watching the new movies.

What on goddess Athena have I just read?! Don't get me wrong, I obviously wasn't expecting a masterpiece, being fully aware I step into a story about cute highschool girls driving tanks. Thought I will have well, cute girls being cute while doing their best in military school. Oh how wrong I was! The story is absolutely surreal but in a bad meaning of this. Author treats their story super seriously and yet tries to convince readers that there's a school with tank riding club activities, that it runs real battles (with explosions and such) during real (sic!) national tournament. And everything is goddamit tense. You can't win a battle? Lmao, you gonna get disinherited and your school will be closed because idiots in ministry realised that ineed a club activity with tanks is expensive... After few chapters of pure disappointment I tried to treat it as kind of sport manga parody but gave up very soon. All cliches were over-the-top, characters lacked any development, personality or even distinctive traits. I kept catching myself on forgetting names of very few main characters and mistaking them for background ones. Plot? If you have seen any sport story, you will pretty much figure out how things will go. I'm 100% honest, low quality football cartoons my lil sis watches are more creative than this - and 'masterpieces' like Supa Strikas aren't levels hard to surpass. I appreciate tho one of girls was named Saori. Everytime someone screamed Saori-san I had hilarious Saint Seiya flashbacks.
